Lo Esencial de Juan Gabriel is a retrospective box set comprised of three CDs and a DVD that round up over four hours of career highlights spanning several decades. Because Juan Gabriel was associated with BMG for decades, the label is able to compile a relatively thorough retrospective, including recent hits such as "Abrazame Muy Fuerte" (2000) and "Inocente Pobre Amigo" (2001) as well as classics such as "Hasta Que Te Conoci" (1986), and "Debo Hacerlo" (1987).
