Biography
Ence Bagus Hartono, A.Md., S.Sn. (born December 25, 1980), is an Indonesian actor, comedian, director, and producer. He began his career in the entertainment industry as an extra in several soap operas and television commercials. In 2004, during his college break, Ence accepted an offer to appear as an extra in his first feature film, Brownies. He became more widely known after joining the comedy show Extravaganza as a regular cast member in 2007. Throughout his career, Ence has played various roles in films, such as a street noodle vendor, police officer, security guard, driver, journalist, house servant, anti-corruption officer, and clown in the film Guru Ngaji, which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Citra Awards. In 2018, Ence starred in eleven films, including Yo Wis Ben, Guru Ngaji, Partikelir, Reuni Z, Love Reborn, Insya Allah Sah 2, 22 Menit, Gila Lu Ndro!, and DOA (Doyok-Otoy-Ali Oncom). Despite his frequent appearances in various films, Ence acknowledges that getting a leading role is not easy, especially with the presence of younger and more attractive actors. He once stated, "I will only be the lead actor in a film if I make the film myself." In addition to his career in Indonesia, Ence also appeared in a Dutch film titled The East (De Oost), where he played a pimp who introduced the protagonist to a prostitute named Gita. With his dedication to acting, Ence Bagus continues to be one of the most sought-after supporting actors in Indonesia.
